The Gold Room tells the story of a prince who left behind palaces and riches to experience the splendour and freedom of Goa’s hippy movement. Fascinated by the flower children, he left all this riches but brought with him rare artifacts, including a distinctive safe that remains in the room today, preserving his connection to this unique space. At the centre of the suite stands the largest bed at Calizz, a grand royal bed with a magnificent headboard, framed by soft, flowing fabrics that cradle a chandelier. Mirrored walls and the golden glow of oil lamps transform the space, casting a sunset-like radiance. Extending from the room, the verandah features a wrought-iron breakfast table on one side and a cozy smokers’ corner on the other, offering a distinctive space to relax, reflect, and experience the prince’s vision of elegance and freedom.
